Bantry  Friday Market......

Every Friday in the town square, one of the largest West Cork market, Bantry market occupies the central town square. The regular Friday Market gets even bigger on the first day of each the month (the traditional Fair Day) .Here you get the flavour of the local people and the local characters, a friendly and fun atmosphere is all around.

Bantry Bay Golf Club-The 170acrs  Golf Club is a Christy O’Connor Junior and Eddie Hackett  designed USGA standard course, located a short drive outside Bantry town. It is open all year and Tee time can be arranged through Hotel Reception.

The Sheep’s Head Peninsula-It is a peaceful, unspoilt peninsula which has some of the most beautiful scenery in all of the Ireland. There is a magnificent ‘Ring’ drive starting outside Bantry along the Goat’s Path to Kilcrohane, back then through Ahakista (stop off at beautiful Air India Memorial), then on to Durrus.


The Beara Peninsula-is the wildest & most romantic of the peninsula of the South West. The peninsula stretches for a distance of 48 km from Glengarriff to Dursey Island and back to Kenmare.


The Mizen Peninsula-is one of the most beautiful parts in far South West of Ireland. In good weather you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the azure of sea nearly all places of the peninsula, even Fastnet  Rock, Ireland’s  southern most point, is noticeable  in the distance.


The Ewe- is Ireland’s most unique sculpture gardens in a spectacular waterfall oasis. It opens 10am to 6pm daily, April to September.

Gougane Barra-On entering Gougane Barra, you meet the natural beauty of the hills which tower over Gougane Barra Lake and then well known St. Finbarr’s Oratory out in the Lake on the little island on its own. Just behind the Oratory are remains of St. Finbarr’s  Monestery from 6th Century. Gougane Barra Forest Park is located in the Shehy Mountains & extended from the sheer slope of Cuain Rua though Green Valley Desmond, to the shores of Gougane Barra Lake in County Cork.


Model Railway Village- is in Clonakilty Town, which is 60kms drive from Westlodge Hotel. It is full with fun activities for the children and an extra entertainment on your family holidays. It is open 11am to 5pm daily.

Funmanway Adventure Land-Ireland newest and craziest Adventure Land is located 32 km away from Westlodge Hotel, just outside Dunmanway Town. It is suitable for the families and the adult groups. The activities include Irelands only Zorbing Track, Paint Balling at Mount Green and Water Sports on the Upper Bandon River.

Whiddy Island- Ferries sail from Bantry daily year round and sailing takes 10-15 minutes.

Garnish Island-Ferries depart from Glengarriff Town daily between March to October and sailing takes 15 minutes.

Sherkin Island-Ferries leave from Small fishing village Baltimore and trip across the harbour takes 10 minutes.

Cape Clear Island-Ferry and Cruise services operate all year round from Baltimore Village.

Long Island-Ferry sails from Colla Pier, Schull daily all year round and sailing takes 5 mins.

Heir Island-Ferry sails from Cunnamore, on the Skibbereen and Ballydehob road daily all year round and sailing takes about 5 minutes.
